Review: Wacky Chicks by Simon Doonan

And in-between the chit-chat, he makes some very sound arguments in defence of fashion, feminism and womankind in general. This is more than a spoonful of sugar helping the medicine go down – it’s a sticky sweet espresso martini, keeping you intruiged, appalled, amused and inspired by turns. I must confess the ‘wacky chickettes’ of the last chapter – earnest, angry young women who don’t approve of ‘psuedo-feminists’ (yikes, they probably mean me) left me a little cold compared to their fabulous foremothers, but the inclusive spirit of the book means we can all let a little wackiness into our lives – everyone’s welcome.
